General Questions
What is the event date, time and location?

What time should guests arrive?
Guests are encouraged to arrive between 4:30pm and 5:00pm for welcome drinks prior to the formal proceedings. Please note that doors to the venue will open at 4:30pm, and access before this time is not permitted. |
How long will the event run for?
The awards ceremony and cocktail function will run for approximately three hours, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm on Friday 12 February 2027. To view the event order of proceedings, please visit the Award Ceremony page. |
What should I wear to the event?
The dress code is cocktail attire. This typically includes a suit or blazer for men and an equivalent level of formalwear for women. Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably while maintaining a polished appearance. |
Will there be a formal program or schedule available in advance?
The order of proceedings can be found on the Awards Ceremony page, which can be updated leading up to the event. Order of proceedings will also be emailed to ticketholders closer to the event date and printed copies will be available on the day. |
Will recipients/attendees have allocated seating?
The event is cocktail-style, with seating available at round tables during the ceremony. Seating is not allocated for guests and recipients, they are welcome to move freely and sit with friends, family and colleagues. |
Will alcohol be served?
Alcoholic beverages will be served during the event in accordance with RSA requirements. Guests may be asked to present valid photo identification. Guests under 18 years of age are welcome to attend but will be provided with a wristband to be worn throughout the event. |
Will there be photography or media coverage?
A professional photographer and a content creator will be present at the event to capture key moments. Photos taken by the professional photographer will be shared with recipients and guests after the event. If you would like to have pictures taken with your friends/family/colleagues, please reach out to a member of staff upon your arrival during the welcome drinks. |
How can I access event photos after the ceremony?
A link to the official event photos will be shared with all ticketholders via email following the event. Select images taken on the day will also be featured in the commemorative booklet provided to award recipients after the event. |

Registration Questions
Who can attend the awards ceremony?
Anyone can attend the WA Rural Health Long Service Awards Ceremony with a valid ticket. The event is typically attended by family, friends, colleagues, mentors, and community members of award recipients, as well as others who wish to recognise and support rural medical practitioners in Western Australia. |
Can I purchase tickets?
Tickets are available to the public for purchase at a cost of (X AMOUNT) each. To purchase tickets, please contact the Events Team at awards@ruralhealthwest.com.au. Please note that tickets are complimentary for award recipients and 3 of their guests. Additional tickets will need to be purchased. |
What's included in my tickets?
Your ticket includes entry to the awards ceremony and cocktail function, with drinks and canapés served following the presentation. |
What is the cancellation policy?
Recipient tickets are strictly non-transferable. Guest tickets may be transferred on a case-by-case basis with approval until Friday 29 January 2027. From Saturday 30 January 2027, all tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
We kindly ask that all attendees (including those who have received complimentary tickets) notify the Events Team as soon as possible if they are unable to attend. As this is a formal awards ceremony, timely notification is important to assist with event planning and coordination. |
Can children attend?
Yes, children are welcome to attend. Guests under 18 years of age must wear a wristband at all times during the event, which will be provided at the point of registration. Please note that guests may be required to present valid photo identification under RSA standards. |
How do I inform the team of my dietary requirements?
When registering for the event, guests and recipients are prompted to provide information on any dietary requirements they may have. If you have already purchased a ticket and would like to update your dietary requirements, please contact the Events Team by phoning 08 6389 4500 or emailing awards@ruralhealthwest.com as soon as possible so appropriate arrangements can be made. |
When do ticket sales close?
Tickets are available to purchase until Friday 8 January 2026. If you wish to purchase a ticket after this date, please contact the Events Team directly by phoning 08 6389 4500 or emailing awards@ruralhealthwest.com. Ticket purchase requests submitted via email after Friday 8 January 2026 will be subject to review. |
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Tickets may be transferred to another person at no cost, provided the updated details are supplied to the Events Team prior to the event. To transfer your ticket, please contact the Events Team by phoning 08 6389 4500 or emailing awards@ruralhealthwest.com. Transfer requests submitted after Friday 8 January will be subject to review. |
Recipient Questions
Who is eligible to receive a WA Rural Health Long Service Award?
The WA Rural Health Long Service Awards are presented to general practitioners and medical specialists who have served rural and regional Western Australia for 20, 30, 40 or 50 years. Award recipients are identified through the Rural Health West database and are notified personally. To be presented an award at the 2027 ceremony, recipients must have achieved the required years of service by 1 January 2027. |
Where can I find information about award recipients?
A list of the 2027 recipients can be found on the 2027 Recipients page. This page is updated as RSVP responses are received to indicate whether each recipient will be attending the ceremony.

Can I nominate somebody for a WA Rural Health Long Service Award?
Nominations are not required. Long Service Award recipients are identified through the Rural Health West database and are notified directly.

What do award recipients receive?
Recipients are formally recognised on stage and presented with a physical award and certificate. A commemorative booklet is also provided and will be sent to the recipient’s nominated address after the event.
If a recipient is unable to attend, their award, certificate and booklet will be posted to them following the ceremony. |
Venue Questions
Is the venue accessible?
The Maali is generally accessible. It is located on the ground floor and features a private roadside entrance with an accessible drop-off point. An accessible bathroom is also available onsite.
Please note that award recipients are invited to receive their award on stage, which is accessed via two steps with handrails on either side.
When registering for the event, guests and recipients are prompted to provide information on any accessibility requirements they may have.

Is parking available at the venue?
For the most convenient access to The Maali, we recommend  Richardson Reserve Car Park, located directly opposite the entrance. Paid parking is available from 8:00am – 6:00pm for $2.60 per hour (up to a maximum of $9.00 per day), with the first hour free. Alternatively, free street parking can be found within walking distance on streets such as Angelo Street and Richardson Street. Additional paid parking can be found at Perth Zoo Carpark. Please follow the signage from the carpark to the venue. See the map below of The Maali parking and entrance into the building upon your arrival.
